I’m Romano Sperling, an independent bathroom designer bringing together years of experience in interior design, industrial design and furniture & lighting design to create bathroom concepts that go beyond function alone. Every space I design is a balance of aesthetics, material, and experience – a place where architecture and calm come together.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering (BEng, 2021), which underpins my approach to combining aesthetics with technical functionality. My path into bathroom design runs through a broader design practice: from furniture and lighting design to conceptual architecture and industrial design projects. That multidisciplinary background shapes a design perspective that looks beyond tiles and fixtures — toward space, light, proportion and material as a whole.
In my projects, I regularly work with premium bathroom brands such as Dornbracht, Duravit, Cerasa, Radomonte, Ceramica Cielo, Zucchetti, and Porcelanosa. I’m drawn to these brands for their quality, collections, and aesthetics, which allow me to realize designs that are not only visually compelling but also technically and qualitatively at the highest level.
Alongside my own design projects, I’m available to interior architects and (bathroom) retailers and showrooms that need extra design capacity, e.g. during peak periods or vacations. This includes ongoing work with Puro Badkamers in Zaandam, where I support the showroom and marketing with the same design philosophy.
A bathroom is more than a functional space — it’s a daily ritual. My designs seek the balance between timeless elegance and personal identity, with attention to detail, material quality and a calm, editorial character.
I’m a certified member of BNO (Beroepsorganisatie Nederlandse Ontwerpers), the Dutch professional association for designers, member number 22411.
